A characterful, authentic larder cupboard with a robust, artisanal appearance. This distinctive storage cabinet features an attractive panelled door, original-looking wrought-iron hardware, a moulded cornice, and characteristic block feet. The round, perforated metal grille in the door served as ventilation, highlighting its original purpose as a storage unit for items such as cured meats (bacon/lard) and other provisions. The warm tone of the wood, a well-worn patina, and visible signs of use lend the piece a remarkable historical character. Originating from Germany or Central Europe and dating to circa 1720, this is a decorative yet functional antique—well-suited to both rustic and classic interiors.
